St Helen's Church in Llanellen is located on the edge of the village and the church holds regular coffee mornings once a month.

The village has quite a lively social calendar.

Most events take place in the village hall.

The recent installation of an oak reredos, altar and back panels brought from Pontnewynydd has raised the profile of this Grade II listed building.

The church is open every day from 9am to 5pm and is well worth as visit for a study of the mixture of architecture from the Norman font to the mid-19th century Italianate addition to the bell tower.
